First and foremost, welcome and thank you for participating in the Lumiata COVID-19 GlobalAI Hackathon. We are excited to have you join us to address the challenges that have surfaced as a result of this unprecedented global pandemic.
We’d like to give you an update and guidance on a few areas:
Inspiration and COVID-19 information
The Stanford HAI conference that took place virtually last week has been a source of information and inspiration for many on our team. We wanted to share the full program.
If you have not joined our Slack workspace yet, please do so. This will help you connect with the community, as well as get your questions answered quickly.

Some of you are looking for teammates to participate, we have a Slack channel named “find-a-team” to help you match up complimentary skills to form a powerful team. We are encouraging you to self-organize. If for any reason you are unable to identify an appropriate team, we will do our best to help you before the kick-off on April 17.
If you have a team and would like to recruit more people for it, you should post in the “find-a-team” channel so that people looking for a team know about it.
The kick-off is scheduled for Friday, April 17, 2020 at 2:00p PT/5:00p ET via Zoom. Many of the judges and organizers will be in attendance, we encourage you to attend to learn more about the judging criteria and hear from our partners about technical support. The Zoom link is located on the Devpost homepage.
We have a number of partners that are giving generously to the effort:
(For GCP, Google will provide engineers to be available for “office hours” over our slack channels)
These are all data platforms of various kinds that you may want to try out as part of your project. We will be providing a workshop on all these at the kick-off on Friday, April 17, 2020 at 2:00p PT/5:00p ET via Zoom. You can find the link to the meeting on the devpost homepage.
